Engineering and engineers have always proved to be fundamental in the development of any nation, mainly in terms of maintaining human needs, with emphasis on the reduction of poverty rates, the promotion of safe and sustainable development, responses to emerging needs, the reconstruction of infrastructures, crossing the frontiers of knowledge and intercultural cooperation, which connects social needs to technological innovations and commercial applications. Within the scope of Sustainable Development, engineering must lead the pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the use of scientific knowledge and individual experiences to transform innovative ideas into sustainability projects that intend to benefit the whole of society. 19 revealed, through the effective implementation of engineering, and the interconnected nature of societies, that scientific and technological innovations can result in the implementation of solutions for the various problems experienced in society. Allied with the new assumptions of the engineering professional's performance is the accelerated technological evolution that offers promising perspectives and whose ethical risks require permanent evaluation. Based on this view, the engineering profession requires reformulation to incorporate current issues and promote a greater sense of global responsibility that seeks the necessary innovations. Regarding the role of Engineers in Angola, the fundamental challenge is the need to raise awareness among the government and civil society about the role of Engineering in the economic, social, and technological development of the Republic of Angola. This view requires that engineers occupy the space that belongs to them in society and that consequently derives from this intervention, the deserved recognition.
